Dr. Daniel Ramallo dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood. A dream that required dedication, abdication, and effort. He devoted himself to his studies to best serve his patients with state-of-the-art care in a highly personal, comprehensive and compassionate practice.
To achieve this goal, he attended two colleges. First, he graduated in Physical Therapy with excellent academic performance. Soon after, he pursued his Medical School education, graduating with honors and being awarded the valedictory speech.
While in Medical School, he did his first specialization in Human Biomechanics at UFRJ. Few professionals have mastered this area of human knowledge, which is fundamental for treatment planning, understanding the injuries and achieving the best surgical results. He received his title on July 25, 2006, and his academic work got salutatorian in the national congress.
Always in search of academic excellence, he completed an Orthopedic Residency at INTO, a renowned institution, known as one of the most robust in theoretical and practical education in Brazil. These were three fantastic years, filled with learning and experience. He then received the following degrees in orthopedics:
Upon completion of his residency, he went on to pursue additional training. He completed a specialization in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery and Complex Joint Reconstruction at INTO. He received the title of specialist by SBTO, becoming one of the few specialists in the area.
His excellent performance at INTO granted him an invitation to study abroad in the US. He attended, in 2014, the fellowship at the Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he gained extensive knowledge in joint reconstruction techniques.
After the fellowship, he moved back to Brazil and, continuing his studies, earned his master’s degree at INTO. He defended his thesis in a public session in 2016, being approved with a “pass without correction”.

The whole period of building a highly qualified team was very rewarding. It was almost 5 years of hard work and dedication. We achieved quite a lot. Patients benefited from positive patient-centered care, cutting-edge surgical techniques, early rehabilitation, compassionate and individualized care. Looking back, I am very proud of the legacy I left.
Repaying all acquired knowledge was necessary. I created the Medical Residency Program in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Copa D’or as a way to reciprocate everyone who taught and helped me in my professional life. Teaching is a gift, being able to share what we learn is essential for the field to evolve. The methodology we established continues to be used to this day, helping teach new generations of physicians who want to become great orthopedists. I am grateful for having contributed to establishing this high quality and ethical professional training.
In 5 years of hard work and a lot of dedication I was able to put into practice strategic management and team development. We adopted a vision of maximum quality centered on patient care. With a compassionate view of medicine and a lot of work, I successfully reached numbers and achievements of great expression.
I founded the Medical Residency in Orthopedics, a 3-year course still active. We held the Trauma Meeting, a large meeting of specialists that brought to Rio de Janeiro orthopedists from 5 Brazilian states and Colombia to discuss cases and exchange experiences. The event, with 112 delegates, placed Copa D’or in the high-level education scenario.
I left the coordination of the hospital having built a team of the highest level in 3 clinics of the chain. The quality of emergency care improved with more patient-centered protocols. There was a record-breaking demand as patients looking for exceptional standards of care began to have the service as reference for good medical practice. We left an educational legacy.
My time at Copa D’or was incredible. A noble institution for whom I have a lot of affection and respect. I am glad to have left a model of consumer-based care and medical conduct that persists to this day.
2017 was a remarkable year. We took CAE over, a department with great deficiencies and difficulties, and managed to better organize shifts, improve the productivity and efficiency of the operating rooms, leaving very expressive numbers. We improved clinical consultations and helped the population with quick and curative surgeries. We published 5 scientific articles that year, sharing the knowledge we acquired. We trained 2 specialists in complex trauma surgery. A year of great challenges, but one that brought immense joy. I shall never forget it.
It is an honor to be able to manage the orthopedics service at Hospital São Lucas. I assembled a team, divided into orthopedic subspecialties, with renowned professionals in Brazil and abroad. I am very proud of the group we built. We have our monthly scientific sessions in which we discuss interesting cases and exchange experiences with colleagues from Brazil and abroad. Ours is a select group of orthopedists. We seek excellence and are always evolving.
The expertise of years managing high-performance medical teams in the public and private health sector led to the creation of these two companies in 2021.
Ortoprime focuses on medical assistance in large corporate environments. Our mission is to manage teams by increasing performance, improving processes and to strategically advance and gain market share. Always patient-centered, we implement management focused on spirituality, training of leaders and maximum quality. We establish ebbs and flows, and joint growth partnerships.
Ortho Constellation was created with the purpose of improving and innovating medical teaching. We invest in state-of-the-art technology and great professionals in the market to transform the medical professional’s career. We use soft and hard skill methodology. We accelerate the process of technical and psychological maturation. Our Education Hub has several branches of action, such as:
A multidisciplinary team includes clinicians, cardiologists, and geriatricians. They take care of the pre and postoperative care. Physical therapists specialized in complex postoperative procedures provide accelerated rehabilitation. In all, there are 21 professionals working together for high-quality person-centered care. Our indicators are better than those of great centers in America. To do the job with maximum quality, I specialized at Fundação Getúlio Vargas in team management (Executive MBA in Healthcare). Always looking for the best, most modern and exclusive way to take care of patients.
